Darroch Nurseries was founded in 2021. We believe the best regeneration happens when people come together with a shared commitment to restoring land, wildlife and wellbeing.

Elana Bader – Founder & Director
Darroch Nurseries is Elana’s creation. Following 20 years in the private, third and public sectors, she has now found her calling at Darroch. She is a Nature-based Solutions specialist, a Member of CIEEM, sits on the Standards Board of Building with Nature, and is a climber and a member of Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team in her spare time.

Susan Davies – Director
Susan’s career spans 35-years working in varied science, policy and practice areas of nature conservation at EU, UK and Scottish levels. She is currently Chair of the James Hutton Institute and was formerly the CEO of the Scottish Seabird Centre. She has experience of landscape scale restoration and community participation and is an Honorary Fellow of Scottish Environment Link and Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. In her leisure time she can be found on the golf course, walking or with a camera in hand.

Sean Kerr – Director
Sean is the co-founder of Sustainable Thinking Scotland CIC, a social enterprise based in Bo’ness, Falkirk since 2016, which delivers community action on food poverty, carbon capture, and community mental health and wellbeing. Sean is particularly passionate about forestry, agricultural, and ecological management, aiming to create interconnected carbon efficient systems which support the development of Scotland’s natural resources.

Rhian Evans – Director
Rhian’s background is in ornithology and raptor conservation and through this has spent many years in the canopy accessing and building nests. She has broadened her interest into seed collection and tree conservation. She chairs the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Rahoy Hills reserve committee on the remote Morvern peninsula where she lives, while working full time for the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service.
